The Pastor and First Lady had a contagious, positive demeanor, and they also had a specific vision for the new church Sanctuary on new church property. The design vision was for a contemporary white building, centered around a vertical tower and defined by crisp, modern details. We collaborated closely, refining their ideas into a unique and uplifting design.

Working together, we defined specific ideas and vision for the operation and interior design. One defining design component was an open Coffee Bar and Bookstore at the main entrances and open to the Foyer. The operation of this type of church function is very popular, but it also speaks volumes about the church itself and its desire for outreach and engagement with the community.

The Building Program included a Sanctuary seating 600, a very wide and large Chancel (stage), Baptistry, Choir and Choir rehearsal and robing, Fellowship Hall with table seating for 300, Kitchen, Education including 10 Classrooms, Nursery and Day Care during the week (100 enrollment), and Administration. Everything was designed to be expandable. The total building area is 18,003 sf.

There are a lot of Baptist churches, but there is only one Paradise Baptist Church. The resulting design image is unique, which was consistent with the vision.
