Just southeast of Dallas is Crandall and the friendly, loving people at Central Baptist Church. This is a classic Texas Baptist church – focused on the family, and outreach oriented, seeking to attract new members and focus on evangelism. Appropriately, the building design and image was to fit this great, traditional identity and values.
The project was for a new Sanctuary as the anchor of their existing location, which would now transition into a true church campus. The Building Program spaces included a Sanctuary seating 1,047, Choir Loft, Choir Rehearsal Room with a layout and risers resembling the Choir Loft, 10-15 large Classrooms, Administration Office Suite for 7, and typical support spaces. The total building area including the Drive-Thru and covered entries was 30,186 sf.
Architecturally, the large gabled Sanctuary is flanked with a series of first floor dormers, articulating the repetition of Classrooms on each side. The Tower signifies the Covered Drive-Thru and the main entrance to the Sanctuary. It is also a beacon for the church, visible from great distances from the highways to Dallas and Houston. The EIFS designs, banding, and trim give a complimentary thread to the distinct building elements, forms and surfaces.
The Master Plan included Athletic Fields and 3 future buildings for Education and Multi-Ministry. The campus has a new identity now, and the church is equipped for future blessings.
