Trinity began as a newly formed congregation, and with that fresh start came forward-thinking leadership. Rather than pursuing a traditional standalone facility, the church saw an opportunity in a growing retail development nearby.

Many contemporary churches consider commercial or multi-purpose uses for their facilities, while the church continues to grow and develop more resources and capabilities. In Forest Hill, there was an opportunity for the new congregation to join in the development of a new retail shopping strip center. The building would be new construction, and designed to the church’s needs, but the design would also allow for future conversion into other commercial uses, as part of the shopping center. This strategy allows churches to provide for their current needs while maintaining all their options for the future. As a real estate venture, the value and return are solid, which will enable the church to either expand or relocate in the future.

The Building Program was for a Sanctuary with 650 seats, large Foyer, Classrooms, Praise Team, large Children’s Church with multi-purpose use as the Fellowship Hall, Kitchen, Nursery, and Administration. The building’s total area was 17,420 sf. The church fits in seamlessly with the shopping center, but everyone knows the identity of the Trinity Christian Center.
